What is a PDO Thread Lift?

Polydioxanone (PDO) thread lifting is a non-invasive procedure used to elevate skin that is sagging or stretching, resulting in loose skin or wrinkles. A needle is used to insert the PDO threads into the sagging skin and anchor the skin in an elevated position. This mechanically lifts the skin, creating an immediate lifting in the targeted area. The secondary effects are the stimulation of collagen in the skin and a contracting of the fat tissue, tightening the skin for a rejuvenated appearance. 

PDO threads do not need to be removed; they safely dissolve in the skin in about 6-8 months. The collagen and tightening effects can last for months after the threads dissolve, achieving a more youthful appearance for a year or longer after the treatment. The treatment can be performed at our clinic, with little to no downtime required and immediate results to help you look years younger. We use local anesthesia to numb the area before the procedure – you can expect some swelling and possible bruising in the treated area that will dissipate over the following days.
