Botox®

Botox® cosmetic services are a simple, nonsurgical, treatment used to decrease wrinkles and lift and smooth muscles. Botox releases contractions causing wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing the muscle. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Relatively pain free, this treatment can reduce and improve wrinkles and can last up to 6 months.

Jeuveau®

Jeuveau, like Botox, is an injectable neuromodulator used to relax facial muscles. Jeuveau was approved for cosmetic use in the United States in 2019. Both Botox and Jeuveau have the same active ingredient, botulinum A. In comparison to Botox, Jeuveau injections may have an early onset and last slightly longer than Botox due to their smaller protein load and less antibody formation. Both products are extremely effective for the treatment of frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, periorbital lip lines, pebbled chin, a gummy smile and more. How Botox® in Florida can treat excessive perspiration.

Do you have to change your shirt during the day because of excessive sweating? Do you feel self-conscious because of stained armpits or sweaty palms?

These are some of the warning signs that you may have Hyperhidrosis:

• You carry extra deodorants, towels, or clothes to help hide your underarm sweating.
• You have tried “extra strength” deodorants, medications, or alternative treatments to cut down your perspiration.
• You spend a portion of your day dealing or thinking about severe underarm sweating?
• You consider your underarm sweating barely tolerable and it frequently interferes with your daily activities.

A common treatment for severe underarm sweating is Botox®. The prescribing information for Botox® states that treatments can last up to 200 days. BOTOX® controls the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when topical medicines and deodorants aren’t effective. It works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When your sweat glands don’t receive their normal chemical signals, the sweating ceases.

BOTOX® injections are expected to temporarily stop excessive sweat production in treated areas only. Sweat continues to be produced elsewhere in the body unless that area is treated. Patients do not need to worry about sweat backing up in their body or causing other problems. The treated sweat glands, quite simply, are “turned off” by the BOTOX® injections do not produce sweat so there is no issue.

When will I know if I need another treatment?

When Botox® reacts with the sweat glands it has a dramatic impact on perspiration. These effects will last anywhere from a few months up to a year or more! You will know when the time is right for another treatment.
